The mission statement for Zealear Cellars is pretty simple. Seek the best grapes from the most desirable appellations and produce wines in small lots in order to preserve the handcrafted nature of the nectar of the gods. The plan is to produce 1000 cases or less of each wine.

It has always been our view that the best Zinfandels come from Sonoma. The most interesting and complex Cabernet Sauvignon are found in the numerous micro- appellations of Sonoma and Napa. Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey has recently become the rising star in offering some of the finest Pinot Noirs. Cool weather Syrah from coastal vineyards in Santa Rita Hills, Santa Lucia Highlands, and North Coast Sonoma have crescendoed. We select from the finest of these vineyards, then blend for harmony, to finish on a resonant note.
